Introduction
Behold, I believe with complete faith in the thirteen principles of the Holy Torah:
The Thirteen Principles
1. That the Holy One, blessed be He, exists and supervises [watches over],
2. And He is One,
3. And He has no body, and He has no likeness of a body,
4. And that He precedes all ancient things [is preceding to all that preceded],
5. And there is no worship [service] to any besides Him,
6. And He knows the thoughts of human beings [children of man],
7. And the prophecy of Moshe (Moses), our teacher, peace be upon him, is truth,
8. And that he [Moshe] is master to all the prophets,
9. And that the Torah was given from heaven,
10. And that it will not change at any time, Heaven forbid,
11. And that He punishes the wicked and pays good reward to the righteous,
12. And that the King Messiah will come,
13. And that the dead are destined to be brought back to life [resurrected].
