If not My covenant (existing) by their day and night...

The Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' carries, first and foremost, the crown of the Torah. 'If not My covenant (existing) by their day and night' – it is said in the Torah –'the ordinances of heaven and earth I (would) have not placed'. The world has no existence without the study of the Torah, in joy, in desire, in continuity.

In the Great Kollel adjacent to the 'Nahar Shalom' Yeshiva, over one hundred and fifty outstanding 'Avrechim' (married Torah students) engage in the Torah with diligence. The Kollel is divided into groups within the 'Pardes' (the four levels of Torah interpretation) of the Torah: Gemara studies, Daf Yomi study in Hebrew and English, groups engaged in Halacha (Jewish law) study, and an elite group in the teachings of the esoteric secret (Kabbalah).

Those learning in the Kollels, are all delightful 'Avrechim' who fear heaven, engage in the Torah with devotion and great desire, and the voice of the Torah echoes well within the space of the Kollel's sanctuary. The study is conducted in depth, while striving toward knowledge of the emerging law – to bring up the legal tradition in accordance with the Halacha ('Le'asokei Shema'teta Aliba Dehilcheta').

The Avrechim of the Kollel also go out to give lessons to the public, and many of them are halachic authorities ("Morei Hora'ot"), rabbinical judges ("Dayanim"), ritual circumcisers ("Mohelim"), ritual slaughterers ("Shochatim"), and more.

The Virtue of Supporting Torah

"It is a tree of life to those who hold fast to it"

"Zevulun shall dwell at the shore of the sea" – behold, Zevulun preceded Yissachar, for in their genealogy it is Yissachar then Zevulun. And why so? Rather, because Zevulun was engaged in commerce ("perakmatia") and Yissachar was engaged in Torah, and Zevulun would come and feed him; therefore he was given precedence. About him, the scripture said: "It is a tree of life to those who hold fast to it" (Proverbs 3).

Yissachar assembles and Zevulun brings in ships and sells and brings him all his needs, and so Moses says (Deuteronomy 33) "Rejoice, Zevulun, in your going out" – why? Because Yissachar is in your tents; they are yours because you assist him to sit in them.

'Midrash Bereshit Rabbah, Parshah 99, Paragraph 9'

in the tents

In the future, the Holy One, Blessed be He, will make shade and canopies for the possessors of mitzvot (good deeds/charity) next to the sons of Torah in the Garden of Eden.

Rav Huna and Rabbi Jeremiah said in the name of Rabbi Chiyya bar Abba: In the future, the Holy One, Blessed be He, will make shade and canopies for the possessors of mitzvot next to the sons of Torah in the Garden of Eden. And it has three verses [and there is proof for this from three verses]:

1. "For wisdom is a shade, even as money is a shade" (Ecclesiastes 7:12)

2. "Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that holdeth fast by it" (Isaiah 56:2)

3. "It is a tree of life to those who hold fast to it" (Proverbs 3:18).

"Shimon the brother of Azariah said in his name"—but was Shimon not greater than Azariah? Rather, because Azariah engaged in commerce and placed [food] into the mouth of Shimon, therefore the Halacha was called by his name. And similarly (Deuteronomy 33:18): "And of Zevulun he said, Rejoice, Zevulun, in thy going out; and, Yissachar, in thy tents"—but was Yissachar not greater than Zevulun? Rather, because Zevulun would set sail from the settlement and engage in commerce, and come and place into the mouth of Yissachar, giving him wages from his labor, therefore the verse was called by his name, as it is said "Rejoice, Zevulun, in thy going out; and, Yissachar, in thy tents."

'Midrash Vayikra Rabbah, Parshah 25, Paragraph 2'

getting food

There is Reward (Yesh Sachar) in the Tents of Zevulun

Two hundred heads of Sanhedrins did Yissachar establish, and all their brothers were under their command, and all their brothers agreed to the Halacha according to their word, and he would answer to them the Halacha in accordance to the Halacha given to Moses from Sinai.

And all this praise, from where did it come to Yissachar? From Zevulun, who was engaged in his commerce and fed Yissachar who was a son of Torah; this is what is written (Genesis 49:13): Zevulun shall dwell at the shore of the sea.

And when Moses came to bless the tribes, he preceded the blessing of Zevulun to the blessing of Yissachar (Deuteronomy 33:18): Rejoice, Zevulun, in thy going out; and, Yissachar, in thy tents—rejoice Zevulun in your going out from what Yissachar has in your tents. And some say, there is reward ('Yesh Sachar') in the tents of Zevulun (the Hebrew letters of the name Yissachar, also spell out the words "Yesh Sachar").

'Bereshit Rabbah, Parshah 72, Paragraph 5'

Merits to Sit in the Yeshiva of Above

Rabbi Yochanan said: Anyone who casts merchandise into the pocket of Torah scholars merits and sits in the Yeshiva of Above, as it is said: "For wisdom is a shade, even as money is a shade" (Ecclesiastes 7:12).

The Rav with a Supporter

He Who Supports Torah Merits Two Worlds

Our Master, the Ben Ish Chai, wrote: It will be understood with the help of Heaven, that there are two types of seas ("Yamim"). One is the "Sea" of the Talmud—the Babylonian Talmud which is the great sea—and the second is the sea in its literal sense, through which they engage in trade and merchant ships. Zevulun was wealthy and engaged in commerce and held the hand of (individuals of) Yissachar who were engaging in Torah, as it is said (1 Chronicles 12:33) "And of the children of Yissachar, men that had understanding." And he who holds the hands of Torah learners has a share in the Talmud that the Torah scholar engages in, for (Ecclesiastes 7:12) " For wisdom is a shade, even as money is a shade," and as our sages of blessed memory said, that they will say in the World to Come to the wealthy man who held the hand of a Torah scholar: "Take the reward of such-and-such tractate and such-and-such tractate." And he will say to them: "I did not study this tractate." And they say to him: "It is true that you did not study it, but you supported the hand of such-and-such Torah scholar who studied this tractate." And this is what is written "Zevulun"—for he supported the hand of Yissachar to study Torah—"shall dwell at the shore of the seas ("Yamim")". "Seas" implies two meanings; he will dwell both in the "Sea" of the Talmud, and also in the literal "Sea" for his livelihood in this world. And therefore, "Yamim" (ימים) is also the letters "Yam" "Yam" (ים ,ים – Sea, Sea), for he merits twice the "Sea"—both the "Sea" of Torah and the "Sea" of wealth.

Supporters of Torah Will Sit in the World to Come with the Torah Scholars and Study Torah with Them

Therefore, he who engages in public needs and endeavors to sustain Torah scholars, and behold he engages in an endeavor whose purpose is to remove the external forces ('Chitzonim') that disturb the Torah, his stature is exceedingly great. And he who supports the Torah will merit in the World to Come to sit in the presence of the Torah scholars and will enjoy the radiance of the Divine Presence ('Ziv HaShechinah'). And not only this, but he will also understand their words (according to the words of the Ben Ish Chai mentioned above), as it is said (Ecclesiastes 7:12) " For wisdom is a shade, even as money is a shade," (as found in the Jerusalem Talmud, Sotah, Chapter 7). And as is told about the Gaon Rabbi Chaim of Volozhin, that there was a Jew who was wise enough to support him and his students, and behold the time of reckoning arrived and he passed away from the world, and after some time he appeared to Rabbi Chaim in a dream, and explained to him a complex topic ('Sugya') that they were finding difficult at that time. Rabbi Chaim asked him, "How do you know all this?" He said to him, "Since I supported you, they taught me Torah Above with the rest of the Torah scholars."

Days of Old....

Your Beginning Was Small:

The Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' (may it be established in righteousness) was founded in the year 5699 (1939) by our teacher and rabbi, the man of G-d, Kabbalist, Rabbi Mordechai Sharabi, ZY"A. Rabbi Mordechai ZTvK"L, who was an immense Kabbalist and frequently experienced miracles, aspired to establish a yeshiva that would raise a generation of Torah scholars engaged in the study of Kabbalah in sublime holiness, and dedicated himself with self-sacrifice to establish the yeshiva on its foundation.

In the year 5708 (1948), close to a decade after the establishment of the yeshiva, the Yeshiva of the Kabbalists "Beit El," which was located in the Old City of Jerusalem, was destroyed. Rabbi Mordechai, of righteous memory, feared that following the destruction of the yeshiva, the "Minyan of the Intentions" ('Minyan HaMechavnim')—who would pray the three daily prayers with the intentions ('Kavanot') of the holy Arizal and the Rashash, ZY"A —would be canceled. Therefore, he took the task upon himself and stood and opened this minyan in his holy yeshiva.

A Daily Routine in Holiness:

Every day, our master of righteous memory and his students would rise early, and after immersion with holiness and purity, they would engage in the teachings of the esoteric secrets of Torah ("Sod") until the dawn broke, at which point they stood to pray at sunrise ("Netz HaChamah"). The prayer was conducted using the prayerbook ("Siddur") of the Rashash and according to the Intentions, and after the prayer, they would study the Tur, Beit Yosef, and Rambam. All this before the start of their day!

Generally, our master's day was full and packed with lessons in all fields of the Torah, from the literal meaning of the Torah, Shas, and Halacha, to the teachings of the secrets of Torah ("Sod"), through which his name went far and wide as a genius Kabbalist expert in all the hidden treasures of Kabbalah. To our master's lessons gathered and came people from all strata of the public, from simple folk to Torah scholars and Kabbalists, and our master knew how to speak with each one in his language, and to adapt the Torah to his level.

The name and greatness of our master Rabbi Mordechai, of righteous memory, became famous, and hundreds and even thousands sought his doorway to request advice and receive a blessing. Our master, ZT"L, received everyone with a welcoming countenance, rejoiced in their joy and grieved in their sorrow, and those who walked by the light of his advice merited revealed salvations, and his holy blessings were fulfilled one by one.

And Your End Shall Greatly Increase:

The success story of Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' (may it be established in righteousness) deserves to be written in letters of gold in the Jewish history of Jerusalem. Under the scepter of Rabbi Mordechai, ZT"L, the yeshiva developed and grew, until it became a central address for every seeker of Hashem and for everyone for whom the study of Kabbalah is fitting.

In the year 5744 (1984), when the health status of Rabbi Mordechai, ZT"L deteriorated further, he called to him the man of G-d, the Kabbalist, the Hasid Rabbi Shalom Shmueli, Shlit"a, and deposited in his hands the yeshiva—the aspiration of his life. And indeed, since the passing of our master Rabbi Mordechai, ZY"A our teacher Rabbi Shalom Shmueli, Shlit"a, stands at the head of the yeshiva, and continues the tradition of studying Torah in general and Kabbalah in particular, while assisting Torah scholars and helping with advice and blessings for the general public.

His son, the Gaon, the Kabbalist Rabbi Benayahu, Shlit"a, who grew up on the knees of our master and rabbi ZTvK"L and ascended and excelled as a student clinging to the geniuses, the rabbinical masters, the heads of Yeshiva 'Porat Yosef', Rabbi Yehuda Tzadka, ZT"L, and Rabbi Ben Zion Abba Shaul, ZT"L, and sucked and received from them Torah and sublime character traits. And he added stature and holiness by drawing close to the holy genius, our teacher Rabbi Meir Abuhatzeira, ZTvK"L. And afterwards, he learned from the mouth of the elder of the Kabbalists, our teacher Rabbi Yitzhak Kaduri, ZYA"A.

He was called by his righteous father to open at the yeshiva a Kollel of Avrechim engaged in the 'Pardes' of the Torah, which acquired a reputation as a manufacturing house for Kabbalists who fear Hashem and think of His name. And so, for about seventy-five years, hundreds of Torah scholars and Kabbalists ascend and excel within the walls of Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom', continuing the tradition that was outlined by the holy hands of the founder of the yeshiva, the man of G-d, the Kabbalist Rabbi Mordechai Sharabi, ZYA"A.

On the Torah...

"If not for My covenant by their day and night..."

Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' carries, first and foremost, the crown of the Torah. 'If not for My covenant by their day and night' – it is said in the Torah – 'I (would) have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth.' The world has no existence without the study of the Torah, in joy, in desire, in continuity.

24 hours a day, 365 days a year, Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' is open to the service of the learners. Every seeker of Hashem, from all corners of Jerusalem, knows that one can come to Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' at any hour of the day or night, and sink into the study of the Torah, while the physical conditions are arranged in the best possible way: full air conditioning, hot and cold drinks, light refreshments, and everything needed.

Kollels and Torah Lessons

In the Great Kollel adjacent to Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom', over a hundred outstanding 'Avrechim' engage in Torah with diligence. The Kollel is divided into groups in the 'Pardes' of the Torah, Gemara studies, Daf Yomi study in Hebrew and English, groups engaged in Halacha study, and an elite group in the teachings of the Sod (esoteric secrets of Torah).

The learners in the Kollels, are all of delightful 'Avrechim' who fear heaven, engage in Torah with devotion and great desire, and the voice of the Torah echoes well within the space of the Kollel's sanctuary. The study is conducted in depth, while striving toward knowledge of the emerging law – 'Le'asokei Shema'teta Aliba Dehilcheta'.

A special affection became known for the Torah lessons delivered to the general public within the walls of Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom'.

The lessons engage in all fields of the Torah: lessons in Scriptures, in Gemara, in Daf Yomi, lessons of Mussar (ethics) and lessons of Halacha. Likewise, there are special lessons in grammar – the cantillation marks of the Torah ('Ta'amei HaMikra'), marital harmony ('Shalom Bayit'), and other topics. Also, the place of English speakers is not absent, and for them, there is a Daf Yomi lesson in English.

Your Fruits Are Sweet...

After we tasted a light taste of Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom', there is no longer any wonder at the fact that the graduates of the yeshiva are counted on the "Eastern Wall" (the front row of prestige). The graduates of the yeshiva, upon whose faces the seal of 'Nahar Shalom' is evident, have already become a household name, and dozens of them were appointed as lecturers of lessons and spreaders of Torah in Jerusalem and outside of it, as heads of yeshivas, rabbinical judges, halachic authorities, ritual circumcisers, ritual slaughterers, scribes, and more.

Likewise, the graduates of 'Nahar Shalom' excel in high-quality Torah compositions in all fields of the Torah: explanations of Shas, topics in Gemara, rulings of Halacha, books of Responsa ('Shu"t'), books of Aggadah and Mussar, and above all – deep books of Kabbalah and explanations of intentions ('Kavanot').

The Jewel in the Crown – At Times That Are Not Times...

Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' excels in being a Torah lighthouse at every hour and day, but especially – at times when it is difficult to find Torah learners in action...

''The hour of midnight'' – an exceptionally high hour, there are almost no people engaging in Torah at that time. How much they expounded in the holy Zohar on the great importance of studying after midnight... In Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom', every night from the hour of midnight, precious Torah learners gather and come for study until the dawn breaks, and afterwards the morning prayer ('Shacharit') with the sunrise with the intentions of the Rashash, ZYA"A!

''The night of the sixth day of the week (Late Thursday night - "Leil Shishi")'' – at the peak of the pressure of the day before the holy Shabbat, Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' operates a special and unique Kollel – the Leil Shishi Kollel. Dozens of 'Avrechim' gather for Torah study with desire and joy from midnight until the dawn breaks, and receive a special stipend. An 'Avrech' participating in the Leil Shishi Kollel related: "Without this spiritual and physical support of Leil Shishi, who knows what my Shabbat would look like."

The Glory of Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' (may it be established in righteousness):

The Torah of Kabbalah and the Sod (esoteric secrets of Torah)

Through this composition, they will go out from the exile with mercy!

In these words, with an explicit and clear promise, it is explained in the holy Zohar how great the virtue of studying the Zohar is, through whose merit the redemption of the nation of Israel will arrive out of kindness and mercy, and not out of sorrow and suffering!

And let this promise not be light in your eyes. For, as is known, at the time of the writing of the holy Zohar, the souls of the righteous and the patriarchs of the nation descended from the upper world, and all were partners in the writing of the holy Zohar by Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai. And these holy words, this heavenly promise – for going out from the exile out of mercy and kindness – were said by Elijah the Prophet in his very honor and person!

The Study of Kabbalah - The Core of the Yeshiva

Our teacher and rabbi, the man of G-d who experienced many miracles, the Kabbalist, the holy Rabbi Mordechai Sharabi, ZY"A, saw the main destiny of Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' in the dissemination of the study of the Torah of  Kabbalah – the Torah of the Sod. The said promise, for going out from the exile with mercy, became a torch of fire, a guiding principle for Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom'.

Rabbi Mordechai, ZY"A, saw his main role in the world to teach and disseminate the Torah of Kabbalah. It is amazing to realize how much the desire of Hashem succeeded in his hands, when today – about 75 years after the establishment of the yeshiva – most of the Kabbalists in our time are his students or the students of the students of Rabbi Mordechai Sharabi ZY"A, and most or all of them acquired their Torah within the walls of Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom'.

Not only this, that our Rabbi Mordechai, ZY"A, taught the Torah of Kabbalah, but our rabbi was also the man who enacted the revolution of Kabbalah study. Our master, ZY"A, with his scouting eyes, was wise enough to raise a generation of Kabbalists who fear Hashem, who pass the tradition of Kabbalah study to their students. Our master, ZYA"A, is the man who merited to raise up the yoke of the Torah of Kabbalah, and established thousands of Torah scholars who engage in the Torah of Kabbalah and preserve it so that it will not be forgotten from Israel.

Kabbalah Lessons Day by Day

The help from Heaven ('Siyata DiShmaya') that stands at the base of the success of Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' is apparent and revealed. The yeshiva became a magnet for everyone who seeks the study of Kabbalah, and continues the revolution – which was initiated by our master, ZY"A – with greater force. In Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom', they engage in the study of Kabbalah in depth, with analysis, and with a diligence worthy of note. Every day, deep lessons in the Torah of Kabbalah are delivered by the greatest of the Kabbalists, as hundreds of rabbis, rabbinical judges, heads of yeshivas, and Torah scholars stream to them and learn the Torah of Kabbalah in the tradition known from generation to generation.

Worthy of special note is the famous lesson of our master, the Kabbalist Rabbi Benayahu Shmueli, Shlit"a, in which the heads of the Kabbalist yeshivas in Jerusalem participate, discussing to their depths complex issues, and clarifying together the teachings of Rashbi, the Arizal, and the Rashash, ZYA"A.

Dissemination of the Study of the Holy Zohar

As part of the concept to expand the study of Kabbalah, to distribute its portion in Jacob and disseminate it in Israel, our rabbi, Shlit"a, founded the association 'Hechala DeRashbi', whose stated goal is this: to disseminate the Torah of the Tanna HaEloki, Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai.

The association 'Hechala DeRashbi' engages in the publication and distribution of study materials in the Torah of the Sod. In order to bring merit to the public, tens of thousands of books of the holy Zohar, tens of thousands of discs of lessons on the holy Zohar, hundreds of thousands of booklets of 'Pitum HaKetoret' (the incense offering formulation), and many other diverse activities have been distributed to this day, out of one single and unique goal: to disseminate the study of the holy Zohar and the Torah of the Sod.

Dissemination of the Zohar by Hechala DeRashbi, at subsidized prices or for free:

◇ The Holy Zohar with a translation into the Holy Tongue (Hebrew) - 18 volumes, punctuated and arranged in great glory and splendor.

◇ Idra Rabba and Idra Zuta.

Dissemination of the Holy Zohar

''The Daily Lesson and the Global Lesson in the Holy Zohar''

Every Sunday, our rabbi, Shlit"a, delivers the largest lesson in the world on the holy Zohar and the Torah of the Sod. This is a special lesson broadcast via satellite to all parts of the globe, from Middle Eastern countries to the United States, and thousands gather in every place in the world to hear the lesson. [It is possible to connect to the lesson on the channel of the Friends of Yeshiva Nahar Shalom]

The special lesson engages in the ethics ('Mussar') of the holy Zohar on the Torah portion of the week, with expansion of things with precious pearls from the Torah of the Sod and wonderful deep novelties ('Chidushim'). The lesson has gained a global reputation, and guests from all over the globe turn to the yeshiva upon their ascent to Jerusalem to meet our rabbi, Shlit"a, saying 'For how shall we not meet with the Rabbi from whose mouth we live and from whose waters we drink'...

Aside from this, every single day our rabbi, Shlit"a, delivers a lesson in Daf Yomi, Aggadah, Mussar, and Halacha. [It is possible to connect on the aforementioned channel, hear and your soul shall live].

Lag BaOmer – The Day of the Hilula of Rashbi

If on all days of the year Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' (may it be established in righteousness) engages in the dissemination of the study of Kabbalah and the Zohar, the day of Lag BaOmer – the day of the Hilula of the Tanna HaEloki, Rashbi, author of the holy Zohar, is dedicated to increasing activity, and further encouragement of Kabbalah study.

About a week before Lag BaOmer, the rabbis and students of 'Nahar Shalom' gather in a large tent erected in Meron, and conduct studies and prayers in it for the salvation and success of the nation of Israel. Among other things, starting a week before Lag BaOmer, they begin with continuous study – 24 hours a day in shifts – until the completion of the holy Zohar on Lag BaOmer.

On the eve of Lag BaOmer, they gather and come to the giant tent of the yeshiva (about a thousand seats filled to full capacity!), students, members, learners, and friends, and after the Mincha and Maariv prayers in a large crowd, they begin with study in the book 'Hilula DeRashbi' for about an hour, as preparation for the mighty lighting ceremony.

The lighting itself is a ceremony that all its participants do not forget for a long time. Time stands still, as the torch is lit and the singing of 'Bar Yochai' sweeps and bursts from the mouths of the public, with our rabbi, Shlit"a, at the head of their legion. The enthusiastic singing continues for long minutes, minutes of holiness and supreme purity, of connection with the Tanna HaEloki, minutes that instill into the heart and soul the joy with the Torah of the Sod and Kabbalah – which Rashbi revealed.

After the uplifting lighting, the entire public gathers for the study of the holy Zohar in a 'Ta'anit Dibur' (a fast not of food, but of speech) until the hour of midnight, at which point the Siyum (completion) is conducted over the book of the holy Zohar that was learned continuously, in a luxurious feast and accompanied by musical instruments, for the honor of the Torah.

More of the activities in the tent of Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom': 'Chalakeh' ceremonies – cutting the hair for three-year-old children while fulfilling the commandment of the sidelocks ('Pe'ot'), completions of Zohar, commitments for the completions of Zohar for the next year, as well as salvations and blessings, advice and remedies ('Segulot') distributed to the general public by our rabbi, Shlit'a, who receives the crowd and influences good upon the participants in the Hilula.

Behold, Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' (may it be established in righteousness) has long since become a synonymous name for Kabbalah study, for the dissemination of Kabbalah, and for salvations through the merit of the Torah of Kabbalah. The Divinely inspired vision of Rabbi Mordechai Sharabi, ZY"A, founder of the yeshiva, is fulfilled before our eyes, thanks to the partners in Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom', who jointly bring the redemption with mercy, for "through this composition, they will go out from the exile with mercy"!

Strengthening and Being Strengthened – Gatherings and Hilulas

Out of a holy goal to strengthen the People of Israel and influence good and kindness from heaven, Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' conducts strengthening conferences and large Hilulas, to strengthen the protective walls of the Torah and to fortify matters of holiness. Likewise, Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' conducts public assemblies, and in them prayers from the depth of the heart for the success of the nation of Israel and its redemption.

In the central gatherings and in the various Hilulas, the giants of the generation, Shlit"a, and the rabbis and heads of Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' (may it be established in righteousness) participate. In the gatherings, words of Mussar (ethics) and correct outlook for daily life are delivered, and encouragement for the education of sons and daughters in the path of "Yisrael Saba" (the practice of previous generations).

7th of Adar – The Hilula of Moses, the Faithful Shepherd ('Raya Meheimna'):

The holy Arizal revealed that the soul of Rashbi is a spark from the soul of Moses our Teacher. Indeed, how glorious is the sight, when Torah scholars and students of the yeshiva and a large crowd gather on the day of the 7th of Adar – the Hilula of Moses our Teacher, in the holy site of Meron, the resting place of Rashbi.

In the Hilula, the public reads together in melody and sequence the entire Idra Zuta, and afterwards our rabbi, Shlit"a, reciting  from his words. Also, a Mitzvah feast ('Se'udat Mitzvah') is conducted in the place in honor of the day, combined with 'Chalakeh' ceremonies – cutting the hair for three-year-old children, who come especially for the ceremony from all corners of the country.

5th of Av – The Hilula of the Holy Arizal:

Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' gathers for a special celebration in the holy city of Safed – the city of the holy Arizal. The gathering is conducted in the "Abuhav" synagogue or in the "Rabbi Yossi Bana'a" synagogue, with the participation of the heads of the yeshiva, Shlit"a, and hundreds of participants, Kabbalists, and Torah scholars.

The Hilula opens with study in the Torah of the holy Arizal – the master of the Hilula, until midday. Upon reaching the hour of noon, they sit to the ground and say 'Tikkun Chatzot' (the midnight rectification, as customary in the nine days before Tisha B'Av) in a voice of weeping and wailing. After saying the Tikkun, the entire congregation goes down for a special prayer at the holy gravesite of our master the Arizal, during which special unifications ('Yichudim') and special prayers are conducted for the salvation of the collective and the individual. After the prayer, a central Hilula feast is conducted in Safed, may it be built and established.

10th of Shevat – The Hilula of the Rashash, ZY"A:

Happy is the eye that saw this, the sublime ceremony in the Hilula of Maran the Rashash in Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' (may it be established in righteousness). From the days of the ancient Kabbalist Yeshiva 'Beit El' until our very days, Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' continues the holy tradition, and conducts a special night of study in the Torah of our master the Rashash, ZY"A, which opens with a lesson from the mouth of our rabbi, Shlit"a, and afterwards study with chavrutas (study partners) into the night from the Torah of the master of the Hilula.

Known is the awesome deed and the wonderful miracles that were done following the study on this night, as testified by the Kabbalist Rabbi Aaron Azriel, ZYA"A. With the help of Heaven, Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' merited to renew the tradition practiced from of old, and hundreds of 'Avrechim' and single men engage in the Torah of the Rashash with analysis and depth, with desire and joy, all that night. And he who has not seen this wonderful study, has not seen the light of the light of the Torah and its holiness in his life shining as they were given from Sinai...

20th of Cheshvan – The Hilula of Rabbi Mordechai Sharabi, ZY"A:

The night of the 20th of Cheshvan – the Hilula of our master the Kabbalist Rabbi Mordechai Sharabi, ZY"A, is dedicated to an assembly of awakening on the importance of walking in the ways of the righteous and by the light of his Torah. To the assembly ascend and come the giants and righteous of the generation, Shlit"a, and a large crowd of Torah scholars and students of our master, ZTvK"L.

After the assembly, a mitzvah feast is conducted in a large crowd in memory of his pure soul, may his merit protect us.

Completions of Shas and the Holy Zohar:

From time to time, Siyums (completion ceremonies) are conducted in the yeshiva, on the occasion of completing a tractate. How much more so, at the time of completing the Shas (the entire Talmud) or the completion of the holy Zohar, then respected and central completion feasts are conducted in great glory and splendor, and the learners are crowned with certificates of appreciation in recognition of having merited to finish the holy books, and out of a goal to encourage many good people to join them.

Indeed, happy is the eye that saw. Strengthening gatherings, central celebrations, luxurious feasts – all this with one single and unique goal: to magnify Torah and make it glorious, to strengthen and fortify the walls of Judaism, and to inherit the sweetness of the Torah to the general public.

And on the (worship) Service ...

Continual Offerings in Their Order ('Temidin KeSidran'):

The light of the Torah of Kabbalah and the Sod shines in precious light upon the prayers and the commandments, to conduct them in their intentions. It is no wonder that the prayers offered in the sanctuary of 'Nahar Shalom' have a precious light of their own – when they are conducted moderately and pleasantly, out of the intention of the heart and with the proper seriousness.

If such is the face of things every day, how much more so on Sabbaths and holidays. On the High Holidays, a large tent is erected in the courtyard of the yeshiva, to suffice for the large public gathering for the special prayers of 'Nahar Shalom'. On the holiday of Sukkot, the tent becomes a giant air-conditioned Sukkah, in which they learn and pray all the days of the holiday, and in it are conducted the wavings of the Lulav with the intentions of the Rashash, ZY"A.

'The Fasts and Their Cry':

Well known are the words of Rambam (Maimonides), that for every trouble that comes upon the public or upon the individual, they fast and cry out to Hashem, perhaps He will spare and have mercy. Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' (may it be established in righteousness) merited to conduct from time to time sublime prayer ceremonies combined with fasts, for the salvation of the collective and the individual.

The ceremonies of prayer and fasting are conducted by at least a minyan of Torah scholars, who engage in Torah continuously during the night preceding the fast, and fast the next day during the entire day. Before the study, the fasters say 'For the sake of unification' ('Leshem Yichud') and pray for the salvation of the donors and supporters of the yeshiva, over the names that requested to be mentioned for a matter of salvation and mercy, and all the nation of Israel. During the day of the fast, they read the entire book of Psalms and conduct the rectification of the seven Koretei Brit, circuits of the Torah scroll ('Hakafot Sefer Torah'), and the blowing of shofars.

'The Western Wall':

In the place from which the Divine Presence ('Shechinah') has never moved, the students of the yeshiva gather once a week, headed by our rabbi the Rosh Yeshiva, Shlit"a, to say 'Tikkun Chatzot' in a voice of weeping and wailing, while praying over the exile of the Divine Presence, and over the sorrow of Israel in their exile. During the prayer, the names of the sages of Israel and the donors and supporters of the yeshiva are mentioned, and words of moral exhortation for repentance ('Divrei Kevushin') are said for the whole week.

Minor Yom Kippur – Erev Rosh Chodesh:

The day of Erev Rosh Chodesh (i.e. the day before Rosh Chodesh) merited to be called 'Minor Yom Kippur' ('Yom Kippur Katan'), after its being a day of atonement and forgiveness and pardon of sins, and a day in which the gates of heaven are opened to receive the prayers of the People of Israel.

All the students of Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' gather every Erev Rosh Chodesh in the afternoon hours, and pray together the entire book of Psalms with forgiveness prayers ('Selichot') and requests, circuits around the bimah ('Hakafot LaTeivah'), opening of the Ark, and the blowing of shofars and trumpets, to awaken heavenly mercy and split open a gate for the reception of our prayers with mercy and with favor.

In this prayer too, a special prayer is offered for the giants of Israel and the donors and supporters of Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom', for health, for success, for livelihood, for salvation, and for an abundance of blessing.

The Hilulas of the Righteous:

At a time of favor on the days of the passing of the righteous, Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' conducts special prayers at their holy gravesites, to awaken the merit of the sleepers of the dust for the sake of the nation of Israel, and to request them to pray for us – for our redemption and for the ransom of our soul.

Rectifications of Sins in the Days of Shovavim:

The holy Arizal revealed a precious light, that the days of 'Shovavim' (a period of weeks in the winter) are days of repentance and rectification of deeds, and particularly for the sins of youth. Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom', which walks by the light of the Torah of the holy Arizal, conducts rectifications of sins in particularly sublime assemblies, in the presence of a large crowd. Every week a different rectification is conducted, which includes an order of repentance, saying of Psalms, fasting, and giving of charity.

Many have already merited to rectify themselves and their souls in these sublime rectifications, which as is known, if a man merits to rectify himself in this world, he merits to ascend pure and clean to the court of Above, and who would give up such a privilege.

And on Acts of Kindness...

With Kindness a World Shall Be Built:

As a pearl in the crown of Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom', the special fund for purposes of kindness and charity integrates with other virtues. The fund was established a few years ago, with a stated goal to add the pearl of kindness to the crown of the Torah and Kabbalah.

Soup Kitchen

Every day, Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' hosts over a hundred diners, who receive a hot and nourishing meal, in abundance and in a respectful manner, and of course, free of charge! Thus, every day, hot and fresh food is served with great love to every needy person, to satisfy the soul of every living thing.

Holiday Supports

In every holiday and festival, Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' distributes respectable financial support to dozens of orphans and widows, for the purpose of purchasing clothing and food for the holiday. In the letters of gratitude piling up on the table of 'Nahar Shalom', passes like a scarlet thread the appreciation for the attention itself, no less than the thanks for the financial grant itself...

Kimcha DePischa (Passover Food Distribution)

About eight hundred and fifty needy families receive a kit that includes all the needs of the holiday in abundance and with a generous hand: fruits, vegetables, eggs, Matzot Shmurot, wine, oil, and dozens of other food items, cleaning materials and toiletries, and more.

The uniqueness of the distribution of Kimcha DePischa by Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' is also in that the kits all (including the fruits, the vegetables, the poultry, and all the rest) arrive via delivery to the door of the house. Thus extra trouble and unnecessary shame are prevented from the hundreds of needy families, among them orphans, widows, families blessed with many children, single parents, and the like.

Financial Support

Many requests for assistance for the needs of bringing a bride to the chuppah ('Hachnasat Kallah'), medical expenses, celebrations, and other exceptional expenses arrive at the table of the kindness fund of Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom'. After clarification and deep examination, generous supports are distributed according to our ability.

Consultation on a Variety of Topics

The heads and rabbis of the yeshiva, Shlit"a, advise and assist every applicant in a wide variety of anxieties and personal problems: medicine, marital harmony, child education, matches ('Zivugim'), and any other topic. In conversations with the rabbis and heads of the yeshiva, the many applicants merit advice, assistance, a 'segula' (spiritual remedy), and encouragement, and the rabbis of the yeshiva even offer prayer for them for their salvation and bless them from the bottom of the heart.

The non-stop stream of applicants testifies that the nation of Israel needs much assistance, and the spiritual and physical assistance given by the rabbis of the yeshiva is many times like air for breath. Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' rejoices in the right to be of help and submit assistance from all the heart, and calls you to be a sublime partner in the commandment of kindness that is so beloved.

Pidyon Nefesh (Redemption of the Soul) According to Kabbalah :

Every day, the rabbis of our yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' conduct a Pidyon Nefesh according to the intentions of the Rashash, ZYA"A, about which all the greatest Kabbalists wrote that it is wonderful for the salvation of the sick, and for any other salvation needed for a man.

Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' and its loyal partners merited to be one single piece of prayers and holy rectifications, to save the nation of Israel in general and every single individual in particular. And would that it be, if we too shall merit to be loyal partners in Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom', and our name will also be mentioned in the holy and sublime ceremonies; then we shall merit to be visited with a matter of salvation and mercy.

Schoolchildren – The Breath of Their Mouth That Has No Sin

Our sages of blessed memory have already taught us, that if there are no kids, there are no he-goats. In Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' they believe, that investment in children and youth yields excellent fruits, in the form of delightful 'Avrechim', sons of Torah who fear Hashem. Therefore, in 'Nahar Shalom' they dedicate special attention to youth and children, and focus diverse activities for them.

Guiding Youth to Study Frameworks

First and foremost, the team of 'Avrechim' of Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' learn with young youth, and maintain with them a good, continuous, and loving connection. From a place where the love for youth knows no borders, the task is easier to guide them in the proper path, that ascends to the House of Hashem.

And at their head, like a merciful father to the flock of his pasture, is our rabbi, Shlit"a. His investment in each and every boy personally knows no borders. The warm encouragement, the physical assistance, the personal guidance, the private consultation, the listening from all the heart, these are powerful helper tools for creating a good and quality connection with the young boys, and later – the tool for guiding them to the study frameworks suitable for them.

In this generation of ours, tested by trials and surrounded by darkness, engaging in the guidance of young boys is one of the hardest labors in the field of education. Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' (may it be established in righteousness) merited to raise this topic too to the head of its joy, and to be a pioneer ('Nachshon') in doing everything to grant every boy the best and the most, from all the heart.

Bein HaZmanim Yeshivas (Yeshivas for the vacation period)

'Bein HaZmanim' (yeshiva vacation period), as is known, is of the times prone to spiritual dangers. The fact that the education frameworks are not operating and that a vacation atmosphere prevails, has already claimed many casualties in spirituality.

In Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' (may it be established in righteousness), they do everything to prevent the next spiritual disaster. In the framework of the 'Bein HaZmanim' yeshiva, the option is given to the boys to continue learning in a pleasant and light framework, with lessons that are suitable to everyone, and with the addition of a generous stipend.

Only days will tell, how many Torah scholars and rabbis grew out of the framework of the Bein HaZmanim yeshiva of Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom'...

The Cry of Schoolchildren ('Tashba"r')

The long summer days are an excellent opportunity to gather the holy flock, schoolchildren, to take the art of our ancestors into our hands, and to split open the gates of heaven. For 'our power is only in our mouth', and who can compare to schoolchildren in which 'the breath of their mouth contains no sin' that can be utilized for this  very well...

Thus, every day is gathered unto them, dozens of schoolchildren before the Mincha prayer, and they pray together 'Selichot' (forgiveness prayers) and prayers for the salvation and success of the nation of Israel in the land of Israel and in the exile in spirituality and in physicality. The children merit sweets and pocket money, in order to encourage them to come also the next day to the moving prayer...

Psalms for Children

Every single Sabbath, there gather in the Great Beit Midrash of Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' dozens of tender children to say Psalms in a loud voice and pleasantness of speech. After saying the Psalms, the children continue with the study of Mishnahs and ethics, and in the summer days they even add reading in the book of the holy Zohar and the singing of requests ('Shirat HaBakashot').

The children gathering from the neighborhoods surrounding Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' return to their home after a significant spiritual experience, when in their pocket are valuable surprises...

Only to merit, to be a partner. In saving the youth, in its guidance in the correct path and in the moving prayers. Happy is the one who merits!

And Now Write for Yourselves" - Book Publishing

Among other of its diverse activities of Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom', (may it be established in righteousness) stands out particularly the excellent book publishing house adjacent to the yeshiva. As mentioned, the yeshiva sees before its eyes as a clear goal to disseminate the study of the Torah of the Sod in Israel, and therefore, the yeshiva saw a duty for itself to establish and develop the publishing house, which publishes mainly books of Kabbalah and explanations by way of Kabbalah.

The Institute for Publishing Books

The institute for publishing books adjacent to Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' (may it be established in righteousness) merited to bring to the light of the world many and diverse books in the 'Pardes' of the Torah. The books published by the institute are all printed only after they passed great labor and toil by outstanding Torah scholars, members of the institute, out of a goal to bring to the light of the world a perfect book in ultimate perfection.

The institute merited to publish prayer books ('Siddurim') and books of prayer for bringing merit to the public, when the jewel in the crown is the printing of the prayer book of intentions of the Rashash in great splendor. The prayer books of 'the Intentions' were until a few years ago in photocopy editions from an old and blurry printing, and now they came out by our rabbi, Shlit"a, in a splendid and luxurious edition comfortable for study, analysis, and prayer, and with the addition of introductions, and explanations and notes.

The prayer book appearing in Ashuri script letters was printed in an eye-enlightening printing and it includes more than thirty volumes! The splendid prayer book which was crowned with the name 'Rechovot HaNahar' enjoys an immense demand, and hundreds of Kabbalists in the land of Israel and abroad learn and pray in it every day, and do not cease from praising the fine work and the much labor and toil that were invested in the publication of this prayer book, which was received with great affection.

And in recent years we opened the store "Segula" in which are sold the prayer books of intentions Rechovot HaNahar, the Holy Zohar, and the rest of the books of the yeshiva. And in addition more books of Kabbalah, segulot (spiritual remedies) for healing and success, tefillin that were written with intentions, Talitot, etc.

Printing of Torah Leaflets and Booklets

Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' brings to the light of the world every holiday and festival a leaflet or booklet, in which can be found an abundance of laws, ideas, essays of ethics and collections of Zohar on the holiday, its customs, and its segulot (spiritual remedies). The leaflets enjoy a response and great demand among the public, and every holiday increases the stream of applicants to receive the leaflet.

Due to the high demand, part of the leaflets appear even in other languages and are sent via electronic mail (email) to all parts of the world, to Jews thirsty for the word of Hashem which is submitted to them with joy and in a fine editing. Likewise, every week comes to the light of the world a summary sheet from the weekly lesson of our master the Kabbalist, the righteous Rabbi Benayahu Shmueli, Shlit"a, which is distributed at the end of the week in distribution to all parts of the country, and in the whole world by means of email.

The special summary enjoys also a great demand, and many learn from it the weekly lesson and even deliver from it lessons in all parts of the world. Those interested in receiving the summary and additional materials from Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' are requested to send a request to the email: ''m6222560@gmail.com''.

A Few Words to the Heart of a Partner - - -

It seems that after the warm recommendations mentioned above, there is no longer a need to multiply words.

Dear brother! Our sages of blessed memory said: 'What should a man do to be saved from the birth pangs of the Messiah? Engage in Torah and in acts of kindness.' Do you have a more perfect partnership in Torah and in acts of kindness, than partnership in the activity of 'Nahar Shalom'?

Let us calculate the calculation of the world! The greatest of the Kabbalist sages said, that the study of one hour of Kabbalah is equivalent to the study of a thousand hours of study in the other fields of the Torah! And King Solomon, the wisest of all men, said: 'The wise in heart will take commandments' – the wise man calculates, how he can reach the maximum of commandments from his small donation... how he can support a study that is worth a thousand times more than any other study!

Now, imagine in your soul. How many hours of Kabbalah study are there in the support of Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom'? How many myriads of Israel learn Kabbalah, engage in Kabbalah and deepen in Kabbalah thanks to your partnership in Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom'? How great is the merit and how deep is the duty, to merit to be a partner in Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom'!

And did our master the Arizal not teach us, that a man is obligated to engage in the 'Pardes' of the Torah. And if you cannot engage in the Torah of the Sod, behold 'its supporters are happy', and Zevulun who sustains shares with the reward of Yissachar who engages in the Torah of the Sod.

For the matter is very close to you. Very. In this sheet, our activities were brought to you, on the tip of the fork (briefly). At the bottom of every page (in the Hebrew web site), there is a slot for you. The slot of 'Your Partnership'. Do not give up on it! (At this point in time the English web site, has one simple Hachzakat Avrech form.)

The elder of the Kabbalists, Rabbi Yitzhak Kaduri, who experienced many miracles, ZYA"A, used to transfer every month a respectable donation for the activity of the Yeshiva of the Kabbalists 'Nahar Shalom'. The righteous Rabbi Kaduri, ZYA"A, knew many Torah institutions, but his holy money, his holy donations, his precious time – this he dedicated to Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom'...

Rabbi Mordechai Sharabi, ZY"A, founder of Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom', used to promise in his life many promises and wonderful blessings to those assisting Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom', and according to everything that went out of his mouth so it was. 'Greater are the righteous in their death than in their life', just as here stood Rabbi Mordechai, ZY"A, and influenced salvation and blessing on those assisting his yeshiva – the project of his life and the joy of his soul, so also there – from the place of his soul underneath the Throne of Glory he influences blessings and salvations on all those assisting Yeshiva 'Nahar Shalom' and its blessed activities.

This is the time to merit. One partnership, more precious than fine gold, which all wealth will not equal.

Your partnership. The partnership that is your duty and your right, that will bring you salvation and mercy, blessing and success, abundance of satisfaction and joy.
