Rabbi Rachamim Attiya, ZTvK"L
He deeply loved, esteemed, and cherished our revered master and rabbi, the Rosh Yeshivah, the elder of the Kabbalists, Rabbi Shalom Shmueli, ZYA"A, and his son, may he be separated for long life, amen, our master our rabbi, Rosh Yeshivah, Shlit"a. He maintained with them a steadfast bond and a close friendship at all times.
The Yeshiva of the Kabbalists, Nahar Shalom, may it be established and flourishFounded by our teacher and master, the saintly Kabbalist Rabbi Mordechai Sharabi, ZYA"A.
With the help of Heaven
A Pious Man Has Perished from the Earth
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of this great and distinguished sage, one of the last remnants of the Great Assembly; one who "poured water upon the hands" (served as a close disciple) of our teacher and crown, the saintly Kabbalist Rabbi Mordechai Sharabi, ZYA"A, and who studied the secrets of the Torah under him for many years in our holy yeshivah.
Alas for the humble one! Alas for the pious one! He would enter humbly, and he exited humbly (Sheif Ayil, Sheif Nafik) and was constantly immersed in Torah study. His prayer was pure and refined; every single word was enunciated with fiery intensity. He read the Torah with its cantillation and melodies as it had just been given at Sinai. For many years he served as the Torah reader before our revered master and rabbi, ZYA"A, in our holy yeshivah.
The Eminent Gaon and Kabbalist
Rabbi Rachamim Attiya, ZTvK"L
Son of Rabbi Yitzchak and Jamila, Z"L.
The Levaya took place, the 9th of Tammuz, at 9:00 p.m., departing from Porat Yosef Yeshivah (Geulah) and then to Har HaMenuchot Cemetery.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his distinguished and esteemed family, and to his sons, the honored rabbis, may they live long, Amen.
May it be the will of Heaven that you know no more sorrow, that death shall be swallowed up forever, and may the Omnipresent comfort you among the other mourners of Zion and Jerusalem. May you be comforted in Jerusalem, Amen, may it be His will.
